Scorching Summertime

Listening to: Milla The Divine Comedy

Yes, that would be the same Milla who plays Lelu in The Fifth Element. She's got a lovely voice and plays mandoline. Does an old Ukranian folk ballad on this CD that's very sweet, even if I don't understand the words! (translation and story behind the song are here)

So what has been going on around here lately? Lots of work. My neck is stiff this week from pouring over the computer. It isn't extremely stressful, just repetitive. Ok, there was a touch of stress but that just keeps things from becoming too boring.

The weather has been very hot, with alerts and warnings about working outside. The heat nearly takes a body's breath away, it's so oppressive. But still, I persevered and completed Daniel's (WOOL!!!) afghan. It's beautiful.

Pattern: Saffron from Interweave Knits Fall 2006
Yarn: Valley Yarns Berkshire Worsted in Colonial Blue from Webs

Daniel chose the pattern and the yarn. I think he made a great choice, but doesn't it look perfect on MY bed? The yarn is sooo soft I just want to keep petting it!

Why yes, I've already started another new project, but need to choose an old one to get off of the list. I do have another afghan to work on, a kit that was given to me back when I was in (cough) high school. It's lots and lots of little crocheted blue and white daisies. Gah. I think that will be next, partially because it will look just as pretty on my bed. All that joining though... and tons of ends to work in. It will make for nice mindless work in the evening.

No rest for the weary. Or is that 'for the wicked'? Hmm... either way :)
