Let me just say I feel SO much better. I was even able to ride the bike about 10 miles last night without losing my breath or falling into a coughing fit. A big salad for dinner and I was ready for bed.
Projects have been coming along. The tail end of Isaac kept me inside most of the weekend, and that gave me a chance to get a bit accomplished. Sunday evening we went to Anna & Jacob's new place for a grilling. Jacob does such a great job with the meat. Anna fixed corn on the cob and oven roasted 'taters. Very tasty.
Einstein Coat - this is from The Knitting Experience Book 1. It's the second time around for this pattern. I made it once before in an oatmeal heather Lopi, and really liked it. The color was better suited to my sister Patty, so it was passed along to her. The new one is in the blackest of navies, Lopi again. I'm about halfway around the lower section... good mindless garter stitch.
Norma Blanket - From the current Knitty, this is coming along nicely. I'm halfway through the second chart already. It's turning out rather larger than the pattern, but that's not a bad thing!
Denim Quilt - No link, I'm just cutting old jeans into 6 inch squares. Ron wears his work jeans out at the knees, and eventually cuts them off for shorts, and I can get 5 or 6 from each leg. Figure I need about 160
for a big comforter size, and have 80 cut. The plan is to stitch the squares together with the seam to the outside, then wash it to get the fluffy chenille-like effect. Originally I was going to back the whole thing with red cotton flannel (one big piece), but now am thinking about cutting 6 inch squares and layering with the denim before stitching, letting the red fray between the two denim seams. I'll worry about that when I get there.
Or course, there are socks in the works all the time.
