What a weekend. I think we've had storms every night since Thursday, and some of them have been really rough. The worst was Saturday night, when several tornadoes swept through the area. Luckily we had no damage, but north of us was hit hard. St. Marys and Perryville (MO) and just across the river into Illinois suffered the worst. We had extremely hard rains, hail, and lightning. One lightning strike hit the transformer in front of my mom-in-law's and knocked the lines right out of it. EEK! Obviously, we lost power for several hours, and we still don't have phone service. No complaints though - I still have a roof over my head.
Saturday night hub and I went out to a local deli/bar for dinner and I worked on the Kerry Blue. The place was packed with large groups and ... side rant: do parents allow their children to run and stomp and crawl on the floor during mealtime at home?... I was able to get several rounds knitted because service was pretty slow. We don't mind, really, since there was plenty of entertainment (childrens' parades... ) and our regular waiter kept us watered and well-beered.
This is going to be a hectic week with homework and extra stuff going on. It's probably a good thing we have no phone service (= no Internet, no playing {except at work a little!}).
