Foreeeeever Friday

Listening to: Hooked on a Feeling Blue Swede

Yep that's right... awesome 70s music.

I have done so very little knitting this week - a few rounds on the sock and oh, did I mention? A new project. Uh huh, off on a tangent again. I'm making a Cleo Clutch out of a skein of Cascade 220 in a wine shade that's been laying around for a while. After doing 3 lace shawls in a row, I needed something different, and the Cleo has nice cables. It'll be interesting to see how it felts up.

When I got home from work yesterday, Ron was mowing the unworked part of the garden. He was stirring up all sorts of little flying insecties, but the coolest thing was all the dragonflies swarming and swooping around him, dropping and darting... there must have been hundreds of them, and not only around the garden but in the hayfield over the fence. The sun glinting off of their wings looks like crystals flickering across the field, just beautiful!

We've finished off the first planting of sweet corn, with the second planting probably ready in less than a week. That's IF we can keep the cats out of it. We're also having problems with the cats eating tomatoes. Yes, cats... the lighter colored ones have pink faces all summer long. Grrrr.

Anna's wanting me to meet her in St. Louis tomorrow for a day of shopping and mom/daughtering. This means Mom will buy daughter clothes and lunch and fill her gas tank. Good thing today is payday. :)
