Listening to: Crickets and bluejays

The last couple of days have been so gorgeous, and the nights are no different. I love this time of year. The full moon has been brilliant in a crystal clear sky - I could almost drive home with no headlights! Cool days and even cooler nights are certainly soup days... tonight is homemade veggie beef soup.

The coolness makes it more enjoyable to make glass beads. I have made a few over the last week, and yesterday evening realized I'd used all of the clear except scraps. Tomorrow I have a rather large order to call in.

On the knitting front, a week ago Friday I picked up some lush Mulberry Silk in a deep magenta. Oh. My. It's delicious to work with! I'm using a Fiber Trends pattern for Faina's Scarf, which looks almost like Celtic knotwork in a lace design. The yarn is a sport weight and will hang perfectly. I know, I wasn't going to start any more projects, but this (ok, and another one) called my name. The other design is a wrap of royal blue mohair, done on large needles and garter stitch. It starts at one end, increasing on the lower side until one ball is used up, second ball is worked straight, third ball decreases on the lower side. Nothin' to it. There's a yo worked three stitches in that makes a nice open edging.

Homework is going ok. Two of my classes use software that is only available in one closed lab on campus, and there are limited hours available. This makes it kind of tough, since I have to work til 6 most days and that lab is only open til 9. Everything has to be crammed in during those hours (not open on weekends or Friday evenings either. grrrr). However, I am really enjoying most of the work. It's not too difficult though it took me a couple days to figure out SQL and Oracle.

*deep breath* I think it's time to go enjoy the outdoors for a while.
