On the downhill slide (to the weekend)

Listening to: The Ramones Loudmouth

Actually listening to it online through kdhx.org, a radio station from St. Louis. Thursday mornings I always try to catch Greaser's Lunchbox for a weekly dose of psycho-billy and Fishin with Dynamite for some YeeHaw. Gets me shifting around in my chair at work and probably makes folks wonder if I have worms or something.

Weather is on and off again... cold, warm, cold... wet, not, wet. You know, like weather usually is. I'm just ready for a little more SUN! At least Easter Sunday was nice for the fambly get-together-porkout.

Been working diligently on two projects lately, and which one I pick up depends on how my fingers feel. Some days they ache for fine yarn and small needles, and other days it's got to be heavier yarn. Makes a difference if I'm in the mood for idiot knitting or detail too. Right now it's down to the red shawl from Victorian Lace Today that is shown in pale blue Kidsilk Haze, but I'm doing it in Kid Merino from Crystal Palace. Red red red. The body of the shawl is finished, and I'm now on the border edging. It's only an 8-row repeat but I haven't been able to focus on it long enough to memorize it. Going to be pretty though - delicate and warm but still open.

The second project is the Circle Vest in Boku. While it's a heavier yarn, it isn't entirely idiot knitting. Every other round has an increase to keep it circular, and it's always in a different spot. Not difficult to keep it straight, but I do have to keep a tally. I think there are only two more balls of yarn left - going to just use it all up except enough to finish the armhole edges.

The university's phone system went out yesterday - a broken water line flooded the floor housing the equipment and shorted everything out. It will probably not be back until later today. It's amazing how much one depends on a quick phone call to handle regular office business!

Time to get back to work. :)
