Listening to: A/C hum
Yeah, too early for the air conditioner, but not in the office I suppose. Sadly, the hum is lulling me into la-la land - the cough meds I swigged this morning took me halfway there already. What with the sun shining through the windshield, the freshness of the spring air, I probably should have stayed in bed. There's lots of wicked sneeziesniffle-causing pollens floating around. My head feels like a block of wood, and about as intelligent...
The lettuces in the two planters on the deck are about an inch high. I'm excited about snipping some off pretty soon! The old fashioned sweetpeas are snaking up too - they'll need some support before long.
Knitterly stuff: The second baby afghan is complete, and I started knitting little lacey booties with the remainder of the skein (1 done, one 1/2way). I'm on the lookout for a good lacey bonnet pattern that uses fingering weight yarn. Next up is finished the yellow baby sweater, and I hauled the Jaywalker sock bag out of the pile this weekend. One sock is now done, and #2 is just beginning the patterning. I don't know why I had such a mental block about doing these. I love the yarn. The pattern isn't difficult to follow. I think it had to do with starting, then reading numerous blog posts of others who made them and had fitting trouble with the ankle. After completing the first one, I think I'm good to go now - it fits just dandy.
Tonight will be a quiet dinner at home - good meaty porkchop, baked 'tater, steamed broccoli, strawberries. Knitting and music and a nice walk.
Thursday night my seester Patty and brother Will and I are going to see Apocalyptica at Pop's. Yay! I love their music, and have to thank a former student worker Aja for getting me interested in the group.
That's all!
