Shake It Up! (oo oo ooooo) Shake It Up!

Wowee...
Nothing like getting rocked out of bed at 4:30 am. I thought I was waking up drunk! The parakeet was going ballistic in her cage, squawking and flapping around, and I was clawing to stay in bed (probably doesn't help that I sleep close to the edge). Cool. An earthquake, 5.4 magnitude, centered on the IL-IN border close to Vincennes. 180+ miles from here, and I still felt it! The last quake I experienced was in January, at the airport in Athens Greece, and it didn't feel nearly this strong.

On the knitting front - I'm on the 4th ball of yarn for baby afghan #2 and expect to finish it up this weekend. Next up will be the yellow baby sweater, hats to match both sweaters, and as always, socks. There's a pair of Jaywalkers that have languished in a ziplock for far too long. I love the yarn, but for some reason I can't get excited about the pattern.

Josh came to visit Wednesday night. I had a roast, 'taters, carrots and onions in the crock pot all day, and fixed greeniebeanies and baked a loaf of grainy sunflowerseedy bread. Mercy it was good - the first I've had of the heifer we had processed a few weeks ago. Then we slouched on the sofa and watched Return To Me. Love that movie. And had some ice cream too!

I'm heading down home after work today. It's been quite an exciting week and I'm ready for calm...
