Mid-Week Meanderings

Listening to: Crickets, cicadas, katydids

This last weekend was the Perry Co. fair, and we usually go. It's one thing that Ron really enjoys, but this year the weather was drizzly and there'd been a heavy rain the night before, so we didn't go. Instead, (to my great surprise) Ron agreed to a spur-of-the-moment trip to Memphis on Saturday. I hopped on priceline.com and found a fairly cheap place downtown - walking distance from Beale Street - and we were off! Ron drove down, so I was able to knit for 3 hours straight (minus potty stop). We ate at the Rendevous then walked around Beale a few times before settling on a bar with a good band. Had a few beers - not enough to get Ron dancing - and got a kick out of watching other folks get soused.

My brother Will's wedding shirt has been cut out for a while; yesterday evening I set to and got the ruffle and placket, yoke and shoulder seams finished, so it could hang. At lunch today I put on the collar and got the sleeves as far as I could - need bias tape and elastic before going further. The fabric is a pale grey china silk, very soft but with some body for the ruffles, and the pattern is a poet/pirate design.

Tonight is knitting night at Myers Weaving Studio, and I should be leaving.... NOW. So here I gooooooo....
