Done done done!

Listening to: Ugh, nothing. The CD player decided to quit!

The brown shawl is finished, blocked and already been worn.
Specs:
Pattern - The Victoria Shawl from Victorian Lace Today.
Finished size - 35x96 blocked
Yarn - Silky Alpaca, color Fossil, 4 balls
I had some issues with the pattern. The border is supposed to begin on a specific row of the body, which you have previously marked. Work X number of repeats, turn corner. However, there is no way the number of repeats can be worked on the number of stitches available from the first side. Had to do a little fudging on the first corner, so it doesn't match the others, but unless someone is really looking closely, it's not noticeable. The yardage requirements weren't quite right either, and I had to purchase the fourth ball of yarn. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the finished shawl.
And of course, I have already begun another shawl. Seems like there are two things I have to have on the needles at all times... socks and a lace project. Maybe because I've been plotting and planning as I finish one up, and already have something in mind. I try to force myself to finish one before beginning another, but it doesn't always work. So, next shawl is in Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine in Oceanic Mix, a lovely teal blue/green blend. Pattern is the Melon Shawl from Victorian Lace Today (yes, another one). It was started last Friday, and I've gotten about 1/4 through on the body. There will be a nice border around it as well. I've made several from this book, and will probably make at least one more. There are some gift shawls to be had this year :)

Tonight is knit group, and I'm really looking forward to it.
