It feels great to do some spring cleaning of unfinished stuff. The latest is the Circle Vest from Silk Knits in Plymouth Boku, Color 1... purples, teals, rose. I wore it yesterday to work over a black long sleeved T, and loved it (even though the colors quit speaking to me as I was working on it). Pleased with it, but I won't be making another for a while.
Next down is the boring boring burgundy sweater. Not completely finished, but all of the pieces are done, washed and blocked. The water turned beet red from the dye, and I had to rinse 5 or 6 times before the it even started to look a little clear. I'm not surprised - the dye came off on my hands as I worked the pieces. Need to get it sewn together, then pick up stitches and do the neck, a simple ribbed turtleneck. What's going to really suck is that I'll have to rewash it, or at least the upper part, in order to get the extra dye out of the neck. Otherwise I'll have a lovely red red neck.
Moving on, I'm working on the pink/tan/camo granny square afghan for one of my nieces. This will be a Christmas present. Yes, I do try to get some things out of the way so I'm not sewing blocks together on Christmas Eve. No, I'll be frantically making something else!
I'm off... there's a pot of chili and pan of fresh cornbread awaiting.
