There is also a family of grackles in the eaves above the living room window. I can hear the babies chirruping when the parents fly in with food.
Last week was nicely productive. Juno Regina is complete but for a wash and block. The pink camo afghan is getting the final round of edging and should be finished today or tomorrow. Over the weekend I got one sock done for Ron... he put it on and wore it while we watched a movie and I cast on for sock two. I should have the pair done by the end of the month... unless I get sidetracked and start something else. Oh wait, too late, already did (heh). It's a Feather & Fan Comfort Shawl out of Noro Kureyon Sock, in MosPrp, a lovely blending of purples and olive greens.
Yesterday was the second visit to the dentist for a tooth rebuild - last Monday was a root canal and temp crown. Next week will be to make a mold for the permanent crown. I really love my dentist. No joke. He used to be a dentist in the military, and though he is quite laid back and relaxed now, he runs his office very efficiently. When the appointment is at 7 am, he's ready for you at 7 am. When I'd take my kids, he would come out to the waiting room (usually empty, since people didn't have to wait and wait) and tell me what was going on with their mouths, what our options were, suggestions, etc. Very soft spoken and gentle, and my kids never had an issue with going.
Bathtime! This isn't the newest calf, but I couldn't help snapping this pic while standing on the back deck. Yes, the pasture field is that close to the house, and the cows have the barbed wire fence stretched from trying to get at the grass in the lawn (it's always greener, you know).
