Summer in a Jar

A Time for Everything
Ecclesiates 3
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

In Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury, the main character describes the amber-colored wine in the cellar as summer in a bottle. Ok, so I don't have a cellar here, nor do I have enough dandelions to ever consider making wine, but I do have summer in a jar! Yessiree, 8 pints of peach jam (right, this is only 4 of them). There's also a couple pints of brandied peaches, and 2 peach crisps, and please oh please if I ever have a notion to buy a bushel of perfect ripe peaches again, no matter how good of a deal, smack me silly! My hands are permanently peach-pruned, and no matter how much I scrub, the kitchen floor is still sticky.

On to other things. I have finished Ishbel, but no pics at the moment. My laptop owns them, and it's in the shop, hopefully back in the next couple of days.
Current active (!) projects:
*Angel's Rest socks, Opal sock yarn
*Britt, from Best of Lopi
*Swirl Shawl, Jojoland Melody

I have finished 8 pair of mittens for Christmas presents, so that's out of the way unless I feel like making more. For fun. *ahem*

All for now!
