The Visit:
Had a great time in Springfield with the daughter. Her turkey turned out delicious, as well as the stuffing and other trimmings. I took a coconut custard pie and an apple crisp, and brought not even a crumb back. I'm not complaining! I was also able to finish a pair of socks for a friend of Daniel's, but I think they are supposed to be a Christmas gift.
Friday morning was spent doing some shopping, but not the fight-the-crowd stuff. We went to Simply Fibers where I found some yummy sock yarn and a gorgeous hank of lace weight. Next up was Global Fayre and a glass shop, where we watched a fellow blowing a bowl. The men went to Bass Pro, Grizzly, and a pawn shop, and I think each one of them picked up something. We met up for lunch at Springfield Brewing Company where I had several glasses of rootbeer. No alcohol consumed there since Anna was taking me to Oovvda Winery in the afternoon for a tasting. I bought two bottles to stash away for the holidays.
Rest of the Weekend:
Spent some time yesterday at Mom's working on Anna's quilt (still). We're on the end border, but will have to roll it back and work on side borders from the middle to the beginning. When we started working on the quilt, we hadn't decided what to do in the border area, and I thought I'd just do that with a hoop. As we worked on the main part, the border ideas formed, and we just started doing that stitching from where we were at the time. I'm getting anxious to pull the quilt from the frame, and I know Dad is ready for us to have it out of the living room! We're going to cut it close, since Christmas stuff needs to be set up in Mom's living room soon.
After work today I plan to work on the twins' quilts some more. It won't take long to finish the second one... I have 7 of 12 blocks complete for it.
All for now.
