Spring is here!

For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; the fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell.  Song of Solomon 2:11-13a KJV

Not sure what a turtle's voice sounds like.
My mom-in-law says this bush is 100 years old. It grows by the driveway, and when it blooms the bumblebees and butterflies are all over it.

This year is going to be exciting. There will be three new babies in the family over the summer months! My nephew and his girlfriend are expecting a girl on July 4. My brother and his wife are expecting August 15 - they are not going to find out the sex of the baby so it will be a surprise to all of us. And the best of all, my daughter and her hubs are going to make me a grandma around the end of August! And it's going to be a girl too!! She found out this last week, and told me I could start making frilly stuff, then told her dad that he's going to have to make sure she is a tomboy!

This week I've been on call, which means no going home on the weekend. I rearranged the deck and swept it, planted caladiums and elephant ear bulbs, and sat and knitted. On a baby sweater of course. This afternoon I plan to head over to St. Peters for the community chorus' concert (it's free!) of Gershwin tunes. I also started working on a quilt - an experiment that I'm calling (for now) the Make Your Eyes Bleed It's So Happy quilt. Bright? Yup.
