House Update
Newest picture of the house. The porch roof decking is on, and the porch floor materials have come in. Siding has been ordered and should be in later this month. Note part of the garden in the foreground. It's a big one this year! I wish I was home more often to help with it.Handwork Projects
Last trip home I found a quilted wall hanging top that was finished except for quilting. It's patriotic, sort of a flag style, but not quite. I've layered it and have the quilting nearly done. The pink and green quilt needed a backing, but I did not have enough green left for that and the binding both, so found a white with tiny pink flowers to piece down the center of the back with green on each side. Compromise.
The Boomerang Shawl/Scarf is over half finished. I'm working it until the commercial spun natural runs out. It's a generous scarf size at the moment, we'll see how much farther the natural holds out.
Patty came for dinner last Tuesday, to celebrate our birthdays (they are only a couple weeks apart). I roasted a pork loin with lots of garlic and rosemary wrapped up in parchment. Steamed broccoli and carrots, homemade cranberry sauce, and a bottle of wine. Patty brought her delicious rolls - there were a couple left over that made wonderful sandwiches for the next two days.
