Listening to: Lucinda Williams Still I Long for Your Kiss and the bird
Holiday
I was home for nearly a whole week over the Thanksgiving holiday. Tuesday Anna felt a little under the weather, cough and sore throat, so went Wed. morning for a covid test. No results expected until Monday so the gathering with family was nixed. Since we had most of the fixin's, we went ahead with the cooking. The grandkids were home on Wednesday, and helped me bake rolls and a pumpkin pie. Thursday morning Alyssa helped tear up bread and rub sage (from the garden!) for the dressing. I got the bird in the oven about 11 and we went up to The Cabin for dinner. There was so much food, plenty of good leftovers.
And we did get the results of the test yesterday - Anna is negative, thank goodness!!, but has bronchitis, so getting a script for antibiotics.
Handwork
Alyssa's purple Wallaby was finished today. Added the I-cord ties. Yarn is Malabrigo Rios in Purpurea with Hollyhock for accent.
Also finished are Cara's socks (Alyssa's were done a couple weeks ago). Yarn for both pairs is Schachenmayr Regia Pairfect Kids Color. Stocking stocking stuffers!!
One last completed project is the pink/green quilt. A lady from down in Cape did the machine quilting and I finally got the binding stitched on. I tried getting a good outdoor shot hanging off the balcony - out of the picture (ready to grab if the wind picked up) was my neighbor Jamail. He was not keen to be photographed.
House
No recent pics of the house, but we had beautiful weather down home this last weekend. The soffit and fascia are up, and Ron cut the ends of siding where the trim will go. It's still on order. But there is a window in - for the main level bathroom that will open out to the deck. It's special built with window blocks and an opening in the center:
