Cold and Rainy

Listening to: Starting on Touch of Frost on Britbox

Have watched this series before and enjoyed it, now it's time to revisit while I'm knitting.

Knitting Progress

Current big project is another Wonderful Wallaby for Alyssa. Her first one is still in great shape, but the sleeves are about 5 inches too short. The yarn is Malabrigo Rios. Main body is Purpurea, the pouch and ribbings are Hollyhock. I have just joined (fused per the pattern) the pocket to the body and working up to the armhole.

I have also been working on another pair of socks - some manly ones for Christmas gifts. Need two pair before the holiday.

Home Stuff

This last weekend was spent at the farm. The grandkids stayed over at our place on Saturday night. We have an antique 'click' couch - lift up the front of the seat til it clicks, then it lays down flat into a full size bed. The girls slept on opposite ends after watching some vet shows on Animal Planet. They don't have a TV at home, so this was a treat.

Anna and Daniel picked most of the remaining tomatoes, peppers and okra. I brought up a few of each, and a dozen eggs. We've started getting eggs from (we think) the Sapphire Gems. But they must be olive eggers! Not labeled as such when the kids bought them, but there isn't much doubt. The white egg is from one of the ducks, the two light greyish-green and the two dark green must be the Sapphires' eggs. We've got three of them, so they may each lay different colors. Mom told me you can tell what color eggs a hen will lay by the color of their ears. Never knew that, so will have to check it out!

They also bought a trampoline, so that was Sunday's project. The new ones are so much safer than the one we had for the kids. They come with a pad to cover the springs, and a tall net.

Ron and I got all the measurements for fascia and soffit, so that will be ordered this week. Ron is also supposed to take the plans to the roofers for an estimate, and to set up a date for them to come out.

General

The weather has turned off pretty cool. Looks like tomorrow will be cloudy and cool. Thursday will hopefully be nice - forecast 83/63 and sunny... before a total rainout weekend. That time of year, I guess.
