Finishing projects is a great way to start the new year.
Gift horse
At a Christmas meetup with a couple knit group friends, one of them mentioned she had some pink washable wool to clear out of her stash. Do I want it? Sure, always looking for stuff to make for the grand girls, and washable is a plus. When she handed me the bag, it was obvious there was other yarn in there, and she did not appear to want it back. Thanks Kate. The next weekend at the farm I ran out of yarn for another project and did not want to sit with idle hands. Devil’s Workshop and all. So two balls of Cascade 220 washable in an odd gold shade, and Royal Oak Cowl. Loved working the cables and twists, and did not want to put it down!
Used largest size. Next one is blue green (lagoon) with light oatmeal contrast.
Weekend
I headed to the farm last Friday. Picked up Ron, then met up at Collin’s shop. Daniel had the big flattop grill and cooked burgers, onions, etc and there were chips and beers. One of the workers runs sound for his wife’s band, and they went through their set getting ready for a gig. Very good, classic rock, and the drummer turned out to be a fellow I went to grade school with. Got to do a little catching up, which was great. Had lots of fun!
