I just realized that we’re coming up on the middle of the year. It’s slipping away so quickly and I feel like there’s so much more I want to cram in. It doesn’t help that I keep finding more things for the To Do list! This morning I started getting serious about forecasting vacation time for work but didn’t get too far. A few days around Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas. Half days here and there for doctor and dentist. Will probably do some Fridays for long weekends.
Project Update
Not much to take pictures of yet - most are still works in progress. This week I cut out and sewed a linen jumper. The pattern is North Country Dress from Issue 41 of Taproot magazine. This is one of my favorite publications, and Mom renews it for me each year as part of my Christmas present. I started reading the soulemama blog years ago, and when she and a few others started publishing, I had to get it. Lots of great articles and stories, excellent projects of all types, and recipes. I just wish she still updated the blog. Her attitude toward family and home was a real inspiration.
The Queen Anne’s Lace shawl is cooking along nicely. I’m to round 118. There’s an extension to make it larger, but it depends on my yarn, and the size when I get to the ‘deciding’ point.
A neck warmer is finished - the Sockhead cowl by Kelly McClure. Color and yarn company is unknown, but it reminds me of a book the girlies have “Everybody Farts”. There is a unicorn on the cover farting bright rainbow colors, so that’s what I’m calling it.
I have also been working on Grandma Ettling’s quilt again. I would love to get it done this year!
