Oh My

 Is it spring yet???

So here we are, nearly June but you wouldn’t know it from the weather. After about two days warm enough for air conditioning, it’s been pretty darn cold lately. A couple weeks ago I went with Anna and the grandgirlies to Ste. Genevieve for Pioneer Days. We had such a great time and the weather was actually perfect. There was a spinner with a wheel, one with a drop spindle, blacksmith, weaver, leather working, basketry, etc. and best of all kettle corn! We took a carriage ride through town and had a nice lunch, and ice cream after. The girls fell asleep before we barely made it out of town.

Last Friday I traveled to Florida with the mother of a friend. She uses a walker, is a little hard hearing, and sometimes gets a little confused, so I went along to help with the airport navigation. Spent the weekend there and back on Monday. She will come back with him in a few weeks. Her birthday is the day after mine so we had a little celebration. Visited the beach, of course, and an exhibit of photography by Clyde Butcher. Absolutely stunning black and white photos of the Everglades. Listened to a band in one of the parks, under beautiful old live oaks. It was lovely.

Patty came over tonight to celebrate our birthdays, got Indian takeout and I’d made brownies. We had coffee and talked til late. I’m about shot, yawning and very ready for bed.

Projects

So let’s see…
Started  cobweb weight shawl from yarn Mom gifted me a few years ago.
Socks in Mountain colors with a rib/eyelet pattern on the leg.
Still putting a crochet edge on the Barn Raising afghan squares.
Green Apple cotton tank (Soleil from Knitty).

That’s enough, I think.

I’m off to bed - home to the farm tomorrow!
