Fun with the Grandgirlies
The girls weren’t starting school till Wednesday and their summer program ended Friday, so I got to hang out with them for a couple days. Monday Anna dropped them off where I get oil changed so they waited while that was being done. Then we headed north to Pickle Springs Natural Area. There’s a 2 mile trail through beautiful woods and huge rock formations. We had a really good time and the weather was perfect. Stopped for a late lunch in a nice little diner, then back to Cape to the bookstore and the park. We ended the day with frozen custard from Andy’s (YUM) and Anna picked them up there.
Today we hung out at the farm. Made spaghetti for lunch, jumped on the trampoline a little, read and watched a couple movies. Anna came out after work to pick them up, and left with tomatoes and banana peppers from the garden.
Plans for the Week
I came back up this evening. Need to get some cleaning and crafting in here. Tomorrow night is knit group, then I will be leaving early Thursday morning so I can go with Mom to her doctor appointment. If she lets me. Some days she doesn’t really know who I am, or thinks I am her sister. Other times I am the enemy. That will probably be me in 20 years.
Projects
Not much accomplished since last time. Maybe a couple of inches on a sleeve. I did manage to get measurements for the girls. I want to make a couple of dresses that will go into later fall with a sweater or jacket. Alyssa chose the yarn for hers - it’s a washable fingering weight in “butter”, and I have a piece of green cotton with butter colored flower buds. Cara’s fabric is blue with pink flowers and a few yellow and white small ones scattered.
All for now, I want to get an early start on things tomorrow!
