On the home front
I went with Mom to her doctor appointment, and everything seems to be going well. He adjusted her meds just a bit, but nothing major. She surprised me by being alert and asking questions, generally more lucid than usual. She also decided that by golly, she was going to walk in (with her walker) and forego a wheelchair. Did great. Said she really needed to work on losing weight, which she doesn’t really, but she DOES need to take more regular exercise. I think her brain benefits from more oxygen.
I received the names and backgrounds of three individuals to work with in the volunteer English program (ihelpstl). I just need to decide which one, now.
Last night I cooked a roast and potatoes. It turned out really good. Topped it with sliced onions and A1 Sauce while it simmered in the electric skillet. Also baked a batch of brownies. Today I picked up some strawberries and a small lemon loaf cake. The berries are sliced up and macerating.
Projects
Look! I finished the knitting on Stockholm last night! Still need ends woven in, and blocking, but it is lovely and will be roasty-toasty warm this winter. The color is yummy too.
There are still a couple of projects left from last year’s Wisconsin trip, and Alyssa’s Flax Light needs starting. I cut and sewed the matching dress on Wednesday, and it only needs hand finishing and buttonholes. This morning I picked up a quilt from my machine quilting friend, so there will be binding to cut and add. Next weekend I have another one ready to deliver to her. Once those are done, the big Christmas gifts are finished for the girls.
