This has been one of those busy-slow weeks. Spring break means no students in the center and very few faculty members around. The only big project for the week was getting ready for the regional teachers' meeting - my boss is on the executive committee so guess who does the work.... It was over last night, with a banquet and awards ceremony and then a big meeting for delegates. The food was good, the honorees did a fine job of thanking everyone and getting laughter and tears out of the folks without being too long winded. "A good time was had by all..."
So I should be doing homework during the slow times. Instead I brought knitting and finished the socks for Anna. They are from Fiber Trends Walkaway Socks leaflet, the Cascade version (I think), using Knitpicks Sock Garden in the Pansy colorway. Thought I'd link to it, but apparently they have discontinued the color or are out of stock... shame because it's very pretty! As usual, I immediately cast on for another pair, just a basic sock for myself out of Opal. Not sure of the color or anything since I can't read the label, but it's self striping in heathery red, yellow, forest green and royal blue, with bands of ivory/black checking here and there.
Today started out beautiful... very springy and sunny, with the temps heading for the 50s. I just looked out the window and eww... some black clouds. The garden needs to dry out a little; Ron tilled the upper end, and we've purchased potato and onion sets, lettuce, radishes, spinach and peas. Oh, and beets... lots of beet seeds so I can do some pickled this summer. We just have to get IN the dirt now without sinking to the hips in mud!
Oh boy, do I need the weekend :)
