Listening to: All Aboard Muddy and the Wolf

Yesterday was the first class of the semester - Systems Analysis & Design. Not too bad, the instructor is a little difficult to understand but that just makes me listen more closely. Can't be a bad thing, eh? My next class is in an hour.

It's already been a great day. No rain! Yay! And it's been busy - which I really like. I've had visits from a couple of students I know from outside school... one was a waiter at a place I used to go 2 - 3 times a week for a quiet happy hour to study, and he knew just when to bring another brew and give me a break with some good conversation. The other student I've known since he was a little kid at church. Both have classes in my building so there'll be more opportunity to say hey.

I've been working still on the red shawl. It's a large garter triangle, increasing with a yo at the beg of each row. The design is from the book Victorian Lace Today, and I'm using Crystal Palace Kid Merino. I've used this yarn before in a lavendar and really love the way it knits, blocks and feels - great warmth with no weight at all.

This weekend is the sci-fi marathon, and Daniel and I fly out on Friday morning bright and early. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for good weather - I don't care if it's cold, just as long as there's no snow or ice!
