Listening to: Cold Roses Ryan Adams & the Cardinals
And enjoying some delicious black grapes. I must be crazy, but the final flavor of each grape has a very thick chocolate taste.

This last weekend was a goodie. Friday I got out of the car at home and was nearly deafened by the chorus of spring peepers in the low wet place in the field across the road. Signs of spring, nearly time to pull out Dandelion Wine and read again. I don't know why, but that book and springtime just seem to go together.

Ron and I went out that night to celebrate our anniversary, which was last Monday. We didn't have reservations, and all of the places on 'restaurant row' were jam-packed because of Valentine's weekend. So we mosied on downtown, and discovered that Buckner's was not at all crowded. We were seated immediately and had a very nice dinner with good beer.

Saturday Daniel and I went into town for lunch, did some shopping, and had fun hanging out. For dinner I made a big roast with potatoes, carrots and onions. We haven't sat down together for dinner in ages, so it was a good evening. Sunday evening we baked a big chicken so the boys have leftovers for at least part of the week. Ron made a loaf of bread in the machine, and Daniel baked brownies (first time!).

I worked on a few projects this last week. Two pair of Bella Mittens: one pair purply pink Lopi, the second pair (for Anna) in very soft Royal Alpaca bulky weight, a pale grey. The grey ones need to be blocked before I send them off. I also made a quick floofy scarf for a fundraiser raffle, and need to finish a second scarf to donate as well. And I worked a bit on the brown shawl edging. It's going much faster, much easier, now that I have the repeat memorized and can watch the flow of the pattern instead of looking back at the chart for every row.

Tonight is my regular Monday dinner down at Maryland Yards with a good book. It's very comfortable to walk in and have the waitresses spoil me. :)
