Finally Finished!

Listening to: Buddy Guy Skin Deep

The last couple of days have been mighty productive. Plus... I finally got a new memory card for the digital camera. Somehow a virus took over the other one and refused to be removed. Ugh. So here's some goodies:
Barn-raising Quilt from Knitalong
Yarn is random leftovers from socks, some from the gals at knit group, but most from my stash.
Changes to pattern - crochet border around each block, then one round on the entire edge.

I love the red (go figure), even on the red/pink squares. It looks very Grandma-Ettling-ish. I attempted to work the colors in some definite color range... didn't work out so well, but the crazyness tickles me just right.

Will I make this again? Maybe, but more likely in a heavier yarn, or just 4 squares joined for a throw pillow.

Next are the cotton dresses for Crystal's twins.

Yarn for both is Sandnesgarn Mandarin Petit.
Pattern is Candy Floss Dress from the Mandarin Petit book. Made in a size 3.

The dress is worked in the round from the bottom up, beginning with 410 stitches for the lower ruffle. Ugh. I had to rip and restart at least twice on each because of a twist that I didn't discover until three or four rounds in. Double Ugh. Once that issue was worked out, they went amazingly fast. Most of the work was completed on the Metrolink, during lunch hours, and on the weekends at Home.

I still have several unfinished projects on the list that I'd like to move forward with, but I always have the temptation to start something new. Commute knitting will be socks for a while - need to get caught up with the One A Month goal (only 5 pair so far this year). Right now there's a pair of Circle Socks on the needles, first one to the gusset.

All for now...
