Or at least yesterday afternoon. This was the scene outside my apartment building after I got home from work. I don't think anyone was home at the time, and the blaze must have been small; it only took a few minutes and one tank truck to put it out. But you would have thought it was huge by the number of rescue vehicles that responded! There were at least 3 tanker/ladder trucks, one pumper that hooked up to the hydrant but never used it, and several ambulances and police cars. I guess everyone likes to come out to watch - there were several families who walked down to stand on the sidelines with their children to check out how the firemen worked. I must say it was pretty cool. The boy and I stood on the deck and got a bird's-eye view.
In an attempt to clear out stagnant projects, I've started focusing on just one or two. Unfortunately I want to start new stuff too. And the wheels are turning. Hopefully this weekend at home I'll be able to make some beads. My main work right now is the Swirl Shawl in Jojoland. I'm on the last row of motifs (there are five rows total). One motif takes 30 minutes. There are 9 more to go. Got to keep plugging along!!
