Wake up Little Rosebud

Listening to: Grant Lee Buffalo Mighty Joe Moon

And the bird - he's sitting on top of his cage singing a constant warbling song. Perfect for a most perfect day! I was up early this morning, had hot tea and knitting on the deck by 6:30, then signed in to work. I really enjoy watching the neighborhood wake. Reminds me of Douglas in Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine, 'directing' the town to wake up like a band conductor. There are two apartments that have dogs in my immediate area, and their owners are up walking them early before they (the owners, not the dogs) head to work. The dog behind me is lonely during the day and moans and cries. Wouldn't be so sad except he's a big dog, so it sounds doubly mournful. Breakfast was bacon and eggs and a little more knitting.

Right now I'm working on a small shawl in a lovely periwinkle blue wool. The pattern is Lingonberry Shawlette, free on Ravelry. The yarn is a hank of Auracania sock yarn that I picked up at Tuesday Morning. Love that store.

Last weekend some of my flowers were blooming so nicely that I had to fill a vase. One was roses - Peace and Tropicana - and several different iris. I also have a small antique medicine bottle (looks like the lid would have been a cork) that the husband found while digging at a construction site. It got filled with Lily of the Valley, and they smelled so wonderful! I have to enjoy them while I can, because they'll probably be finished blooming by this weekend.

Ugh... Blogger has changed things again!
