I’m Being Followed by a Moonshadow…

 Or…a moonflower!

I came home from knit group last night to two blooms bigger than my hand . At night they are almost luminous, and smell so sweet. 6:30 this morning they were already beginning to fade, but still lovely. Most of the buds were broken off in last week’s storm, but these survived. I think there is one more tiny bud left.

The deck really is one of my favorite places. Aside from these flowers, there are morning glories, impatiens, elephant ears, caladiums, and begonias. Also a few of my houseplants and pots of basil and rosemary to brush my hands over for a lift. I do the same with the geraniums too.

Weekly Progress

Yesterday I worked in ends and steamed a pair of socks. This yarn is from Gedifra, Lana Mia One4Two. It is so spongy and soft. Purchased at a deep discount from Little Knits, and I have another ball in greys.

Also in the works - a top down pullover Margay, in a deep red alpaca, cotton, modal blend. It’s knitting a dream, great stitch definition (perfect for the lace yoke) but still very soft. I’m about 2 rounds from separating the sleeves off. Pics when I’m farther along.

House

Friday we got insulation blown in the roof. The guy called early morning, said he had some open cell in the line (we got closed cell) and would we mind if he emptied it in areas like above the doors/windows and above the basement walls, etc. Basically small, hard to manage places we’d be putting fiberglass batt. For FREE. Um yes please! So that’s done, next comes the batt insulation. Again, free from brother-in-law construction company owner. He’s got a storage trailer full of unused insulation from various jobs and he just wants it gone.

Before we can get that in, there’s still a small bit of wiring, a couple lights we just decided on. It still seems to be dragging, but I guess baby steps will get us there as long as we keep moving forward.

Til next time!
