Harvested Sunday before heading north. You can’t even tell where any were picked! Sadly, the slicers have not done well at all this year, but the cherry tomatoes are overloaded. No way to use them all. Some of these are destined for a tomato goat cheese fresh basil tart. Maybe with some caramelized onions. Ok, yum…
I delivered Mom to Aunt Sharon’s house in Decatur yesterday. She will be visiting for a few days, going with her to Maria to spend time with Aunt Marilyn. It was a long drive but they need to do some visiting before any of them get too feeble.
I’ve been to the yearly trek to Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival. Was mostly behaved with purchases, and I have already started one of the projects. I bought 2 sweater’s worth of yarn - some chunky hand dyed, and lighter weight Ecuadorian natural shades. A kit for cute gloves, more hand dyed door a shawl, and some lovely alpaca/silk for a cowl.
Last week I finished a pullover with pretty neckline laciness in an alpaca, cotton, modal DK weight. It turned out perfectly, even the fit is great. Wore it to church with a black skirt, and it’s perfect. Love it when a project works out well.
