It’s Getting Better All the Time

 Family Bits

Yesterday I met with Dad’s health care team, and things sound pretty promising. The sore on his foot is improving very well, and he is able to walk 100 steps and go up two stair steps. He’s doing well with occupational therapy too, able to put on a t shirt with minimal verbal prompts, and pants with minimal physical help. We’ll need to get shoes with Velcro closures, since his feet swell and shrink throughout the day. He is also acceptable to changing the bathroom with a walk-in shower, which would help Mom quite a bit too.

We had a little Do at the nursing home Saturday evening. Fried chicken, tater salad and cowboy beans, and Patty made a cake. Mom’s birthday was March 31, so we celebrated that along with Easter. Hannah brought Artemis along, all dressed in a pretty dress, and got lots of snuggies from the nurses. Babies do that!

Projects

Still working on Shortest Day Shawl. Also pulled out a small UFO that is about halfway along, a scarf kit with Dawn yarn 50/50 wool silk blend from Naturally Yarns NZ. Color is a pretty burgundy, and the pattern is feather and fan.
Another clue (week 5) is completed on the mystery quilt. Still no idea what it’s going to look like, but hey, that’s the fun of it!
I have also started using up fabric strips for another scrappy quilt. Using printer paper (mistakes) with a diagonal line and following that for flip and sew. Six blocks so far.
