Happenings
So many cool things going on! Saturday we hauled hay. Daniel, Anna and Dwayne came out and helped. I was designated tractor operator. Beautiful day for it.
Comet Tsuchinshan has been visible for a few evenings lately. Ron and I watched it Sunday night, and Anna got an excellent photo of it Monday. This has been a great year for celestial events. The total eclipse for starters, some amazing super moons (October’s is going to be one of the biggest), and the comet that won’t be around again for 80,000 years.
Sunday after church I took Mom for a drive out to Trail of Tears. A few trees have started turning, mostly yellow, and the sumac leaves are a brilliant red. We worked our way slowly, stopping a scenic overlooks. From one, we were able to see all the way to Bald Knob Cross in Illinois. Another perfect day for being out. We had a little lunch at Dairy Queen before heading home. Yesterday I worked on her financial stuff. Discovered another life insurance policy for Dad and started it on the journey. Need to drop off a stack of mail at the PO today!
Last night the temperature dropped to nearly freezing. Luckily, the plants on the deck are sheltered a bit, so I found them inside homes this morning. The bird looked at me like his mind was blown when I tucked a couple around his cage.
