A quick post before an early bedtime. Tomorrow morning I have a doctor appointment at 8:20, so no lounging in bed. Today was pretty nice. A bit cloudy, but the temps got into the 50s. I made a trip to Aldi and CVS. Have to go back to the pharmacy tomorrow- they had put my Rx back. Yeah it was my fault for taking so long to pick up, but I’d called and they were going to hold on to it. Apparently wires got crossed. So they had to fill it again.
Last week Daniel, his gf Grace, and her two chil’ens came up. Her oldest (3) had a doc appointment which went well, and they stayed over a few days. I met them for lunch on Monday, then at the zoo Tuesday, all bundled up and moving QUICKLY between buildings to stay warm. The Insectarium, penguin/puffin house, the great apes, and the herpetarium. Gotta love those snakes and frogs. We had a really nice time. The grizzlies and a polar bear were out in their enclosures.
Finished Projects
We’re into the holiday season. Yay! But I don’t have too much finished. So that’s a ‘boo’.
An emotional support chicken, maybe for Mom. This is from a kit. Lindsey Lo’hen’. Cute and cuddly, much bigger than expected.
Sweater and hat for Caroline. The neckline seems a bit big, but she won’t care. Would rather have it loose as too tight. It is really a blue, but the lighting makes it look grey. There is still some leftover - mittens maybe? We’ll see how time goes.
Completed a pair of socks in a blue fade yarn. They are steam blocked and ready to give.
Hi-viz orange sock cap with grey stripes. Enough yarn remaining for another cap in opposite colors. I finished it and it went directly on Ronnie’s head.
Alpaca poncho, natural cream, picture later. It is gorgeous, with cables and bobbles, and so so soft. The yarn is from a vendor who was at Wisconsin Sheep and Wool. I had bought some skeins last year, but changed what I wanted to make. Gambled he would be there again this year. I win!
I guess I had more done than I thought!
Upcoming
Today I cut out and sewed a shirt for Caden. Still needs buttonholes and buttons, and it will be finished tomorrow.
Another pair of socks in is is in the works. Blue and cream striped, just my basic go-to slip stitch pattern.
Ribbed sock cap in grey with hi-viz orange stripes.
