Listening to: Follow Your Bliss, B52s
Having a tough time falling asleep tonight…or this morning.
Projects
1. Unraveled the Irish Rover pullover. It just wasn’t speaking to me. The yarn is lovely, the design is really nice, but the technical issues soured the desire to keep working on it. Can you have a project grudge?? So I started fresh, using Tin Can Knit’s Hush. Already I have made friends with the combination.
2. Quilt - Single Wedding Ring/Crown of Thorns. Scrappy, using one random print (mostly loud and bright) with dark or bright colors for the solid. The blocks are 15” square, and I have finished 20 in the last 2 weeks. I plan to add 2” lattice in black, and use up more stash print for a 7” border.
3. Socks - Very little accomplished on these.
4. Scarf - I truly intended to clean out more yarn stash. But then I stumbled onto a full and a nearly full skein of yummy ombré blue yarn. Wool, viscose, alpaca blend that BEGGED to become a Yarn Harlot’s One Row Handspun Scarf. Although I am not a huge fan of scarves (prefer cowls so there are no ends to unwind), I guess I can make an exception. It is a no-brainer, knit, and feels good sliding through my fingers. It can go into the gift tub.
Home front
Sunday we stopped by the nursing home after church to visit Mom. The nurse said she had a good breakfast, sat in the common area for a short while, but kept falling asleep. She didn’t wake while we were there, and there’s a virus going around so we didn’t stay long. Then yesterday they called to say she had fallen out of bed, but no injuries. This morning they called to hospice nurse told me she was alert and carried on a conversation, even though it didn’t all make sense. At least she knew her name.
Closing out with Poetry Man, Queen Latifah
