Goings On
Still looking for a job. I have several applications out and just hoping to hear something back. I am even looking at non-professional positions, like cashier at Home Depot. This is not going to be a good time for job searching, considering the instability of the economy.
I have agreed to take care of Daniel’s girlfriend’s little girl while the oldest goes on a field trip. A parent is required, and no siblings are allowed. It’s not very handy. We can figure something out for 3 hours or so.
Aunt Sharon and my cousin Jessica came down last Friday. We went down to the nursing home to visit Mom, then we went out for dinner. I am not sure Mom realized who Sharon was. They went back down Saturday morning before driving home.
Projects
The cowl/neck warmer is finished for Ronnie. It’s long enough to tuck into the neck of his shirt and cover nose and ears if he warns, or fold it down. It is just a 2x2 rib knitted in a washable wool blend in dark brown. The yarn is leftover from a sweater knitted for one of the grandkids a few years ago.
Willow Branch is complete. Wearing it right now, and it’s a perfect fit. The pattern was so well written. Yarn is from Crazy Valley Farmers, worsted weight 2-ply wool. The sweater didn’t take nearly as much yarn as I thought, but there may be more yardage than listed on the label. 250 yd/4.5 oz. Made a size 5.
Tomorrow I plan to head home around noon. So far I haven’t chosen a new ‘big’ project. Maybe I can just coast on small UFOs. There’s a Beryl Blanket (free on Ravelry) made from leftover sock yarn. I just have to decide how big to make it so I know when to quit!
