Keep Calm…

I just got home from a job interview for a part time job at Home Depot. Though I would prefer full time office work, this will bring in money, and there may be FT available with great benefits at a later time. I’m ok with that.

Mom and Dad’s taxes are ready to deliver, he’s already been contacted and can take them next week. Keeping up with the second set of bills is not easy. Joe will need to get the car inspected too.

Projects

1. Smocked dress. This is for Daniel’s girlfriend’s little girl, Caroline. I have made this pattern before, but had forgotten how much of a pain the directions are. You do some work, then have to refer to general sewing instructions, which are upside down from the opposite end. Flip flip flip, back and forth. And the seam allowance varies often. But it IS a cute dress.

The lighting on this photo is crappy, but you can get the idea.

2. Snowflake wall hanging. This is another Wisconsin finish. A few of us took a side trip to Madison to a huge quilt show and this kit with the hanger came home with me!

3. Working on Northwesterly, a join as you go throw using scraps of sock yarn. It’s a very relaxing project, and one that doesn’t require much thought. Perfect for knit group, or while I am watching a show.

I have pulled the hand dyed green DK weight from Hidden Mountain Farm. It is from  Finnish Landrace sheep. Last year I made a sweater from a blue I purchased from her. It’s really lovely and soft, with a slight halo. Still mulling over the sweater design but think it will be something fairly plain to let the coloring and fiber shine through. Maybe Flax DK?
