A Woman’s Work…

 …is never done?

We’ve had some crazy weather. Well, typical Missouri spring weather, anyway. Hopefully we have had our last freeze, but who knows? Horrible storms, multiple tornadoes, and flooding, some of those painfully close. We lost some sheets of tin off the barn roof plus a lightning strike that took out electric at the barn, trees were toppled, flooding in the cellar. Nothing that we can’t repair, so that’s a mercy.

I started a new job last week. Still in the training stage. Once through, I will be part time head cashier at Home Depot. I am looking forward to it - helping with the finances, and they offer some benefits even for part timers.

Projects

Not much new to report. I am taking a break from sweater knitting for a short bit and working on the scrap blankets. There are three in progress - Barn Raising (all squares complete, putting edging around each), Beryl Blanket (maybe 3/4 finished), and Northeasterly (on fourth strip of ?… maybe 10?).

I have some cotton worsted weight in the color Jam that will be a tank top, but I am having motivational issues. 🙃

Patty brought me a Hank of hand dyed/hand spun wool from an SCA event. It’s a grey black plied with a variegated turquoise. Very lovely and soft, maybe a worsted weight. I still need to find a pattern, but leaning toward a cowl.

Maybe I’ll go pattern perusing…

I have also layered a baby quilt, and need to quilt and bind. There print fabric for blocks was all given to me, and the batting is pieced from off-cut scraps my machine quilter gave me. I only supplied the border/backing, and a few solids from the stash.

Oh boy, back to thunder and hard rain. There was sun just 20 minutes ago!
