Back to A/C

 This and that

The temps have gone back up. Way up. Heat indices over 100. Even early mornings it is already so warm that I have to put on the air in my car going to work.

The meeting with the lawyer mentioned in the last post went well. They were very helpful with how I needed to manage the money. I have made copies of all the vehicles that need to be titled to the estate, and they are going to handle it all with the DMV. Rebecca and I met at the house, went through the safe, and sorted through the cash. It’s all divvied up and has been handed off to everyone except Will, and I will see him Sunday. I also came home with two bags of yarn that I absolutely do not need!

My parakeet died. It was really sudden. I left for about two hours - he was fine and flying around, playing with his toys, chattering - and when I came back he was next to his cage. He never sat there, and I was able to pick him right up. That’s something I was never able to do. I laid him in a box with a soft old sock, but he was dead in an hour. I took him to the farm so Ronnie could give him a proper burial.

Projects

I have been all over the place, Project ADHD.

Flax DK - Separated the arms and working on the body. It’s mindless so will probably use it at knit group.

Beryl Blanket - only added two more hexies so far.

Nympho Shawl - didn’t even touch it.

Children’s Neckdown Cardigan - from Knitting Pure and Simple. This was a spur of the moment thing. Somehow I ended up with 4 skeins of cotton worsted in the color Jam. I’ve been on the lookout for something simple that didn’t take too much yarn since this has been discontinued. The sweater went together quickly, and was super easy. It’s done except for the buttons! Start to finish, it took one week. Alyssa’s birthday is coming up next month, so guess what she’s getting!?

That’s all for today. I have to be up at 4 tomorrow for work.
